"Kyrgyzkommertsbank" OJSC (hereinafter - the Bank) has a long history of success and is working efficiently in financial market of the country for more than 27 years. Constantly improving and keeping up with the latest international trends, the Bank is a stable and reliable financial institution in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Bank is the successor to "Kyrgyzavtobank" JSC, which was established in October 1989 as an open joint stock company in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. In June 2002, 72.35% of shares of "Kyrgyzavtobank" JSC were purchased by one of the largest financial institutions in the territory of Kazakhstan - "Kazkommertsbank" OJSC. In December 2002, "Kazkommertsbank" OJSC has increased its share of stock to 73.8%, which was the reason for renaming of "Kyrgyzavtobank" JSC to "Kazkommertsbank Kyrgyzstan" OJSC. Thus new licenses were obtained from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic to conduct banking operations in national and foreign currencies. By December 2011 shares of JSC "Kazkommertsbank" in bank subsidiary increased to 95.75%. 

In February 2015 "Kazkommertsbank" JSC sold 95.75% of shares to natural person Mr. Mamakeev K.M. Then, in accordance with decision of General Meeting of Shareholders dated 27 March 2015 "Kazkommertsbank-Kyrgyzstan" OJSC was renamed to "Kyrgyzkommertsbank" OJSC. On 27 May 2015 the Bank was re-registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, and obtained new licenses of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic dated 17 June 2015 to conduct banking operations in national and foreign currencies.

"Kyrgyzkommertsbank" OJSC is a universal bank providing wide range of banking services on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. Primary areas of work: deposit placement, crediting, payments settlement and cash services for legal and natural persons, operations with securities, foreign currencies and derivative financial instruments, issuance and maintenance of credit and payment cards.

The Bank has the highest status of a principal member of Visa and MasterCard payment systems, serving Visa cards, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express and Elcart. Activities are completed successfully to obtain Principal Member status  of China Union Pay payment system.

In February 2016 the Bank obtained an additional license from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic to carry out operations with precious metals in the form of affined small bars issued by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. It gives customers of "Kyrgyzkommertsbank" OJSC  an opportunity to keep their savings in gold.

In June 2017 Japanese public company Sawada Holdings Co., Ltd., whose shares are quoted at the Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ, during the additional issue of shares of Kyrgyzkommertsbank OJSC, acquired 52.90% of shares. This is the first agreement between financial institutions of Japan and Kyrgyzstan. Foreign investors are optimistic about the growth prospects in our country. In addition, this agreement will have a beneficial effect on the development of the investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic. Sawada Holdings was founded in 1958. The company opertaes in the securities market, banking, brokerage, insurance, real estate and tourism. It also has assets in the banking sector: is a controlling shareholder in the largest bank of Mongolia Khan Bank and a major shareholder in the Russian SOLID Bank.

The Bank participates in state deposit insurance system in accordance with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic dated 7 March 2008 (as amended dated 3 March 2010) "On protection of bank deposits", and registered in Register of participating banks (№ 03-09 dated 12 August 2009). Thus, Agency for protection of deposits guarantees to depositors of the Bank to pay 200 000 soms in case of loss occurrence.
